フィンカ・ラ・ソレダはゲイシャ種が素晴らしい品質で、毎年購入をしています。今年はH1というF1品種も購入しました。セントロアメリカーノとも呼ばれるこの品種は、スーダン・ルメとサチモールの交配品種で、一度に多くのコーヒーの実を収穫することができます。

ゲイシャ種のロットも購入していますが、リリースはもう少しお待ちください。それを踏まえたインポーターの辻本さんの購入体験談を記載しておきます。

6年ほど前、グアテマラに滞在していたとき、友人の従姉妹にコーヒー農園を訪ねようと誘われ、たまたまラ・ソレダ農園を訪れた。当時はまだバイヤーではなかったのですが、快く迎えてくれて、とても楽しい時間を過ごすことができました。その時、私がラ・ソレダ農園の商品を買えないかと尋ねたところ、「新規のお客さんには売らないけど、タカなら大丈夫だよ」と言われたことを今でも鮮明に覚えている。しばらくして、私は彼に連絡を取り、新しい会社「シュハリ」を立ち上げること、そして彼に良いものを残していくことを伝えた。その後に来たサンプルがゲイシャ種だった。ブラインドでカッピングしてみると、圧倒的なゲイシャのフレーバーがあり、グアテマラではこんな美しいゲイシャに出会ったことがなかったので、即購入を決めた。いつも彼に言われる言葉がある「コーヒーを作るのは人だから、一番大切なのは美味しいコーヒーを作る情熱だ」と。まさに彼らの思いが詰まったこのゲイシャを日本の皆さんにお届けできることを嬉しく思います。

Finca La Soledad has excellent quality Geisha varieties and we purchase them every year. This year we also purchased an F1 variety called H1. Also called Centroamericano, this variety is a cross between Sudan Lume and Satimor, and can yield more coffee berries at one time.

We have also purchased a lot of the Geisha variety, but will have to wait a little longer for its release. With that in mind, we would like to describe our importer Mr. Tsujimoto’s purchase experience.

About six years ago, when I was staying in Guatemala, a friend’s cousin invited me to visit a coffee farm, and I happened to visit La Soledad Estate. Although I was not yet a buyer at the time, she graciously welcomed me and we had a great time. At that time, I asked him if I could buy La Soledad Farm’s products, and I still vividly remember him telling me that he would not sell to new customers, but that Taka would be fine. A short time later, I contacted him and told him that I was starting a new company, Shuhari, and that I would leave him the good stuff. The sample that came after that was a Geisha variety. When I cupped it blind, I found an overwhelming Geisha flavor, and since I had never encountered such a beautiful Geisha in Guatemala, I decided to buy it immediately. He always says to me, “It is the people who make the coffee, so the most important thing is the passion to make good coffee. I am happy to be able to offer this Geisha, which is exactly what they have in mind, to the people of Japan.
