長年この仕事に従事していると根生えてしまう既成概念。判断基準にはなり得るが可能性は狭まる。そうするとつまらないものばかりが世に蔓延る。ブラジルというテキストを見ただけで期待値を下げてしまうのは良く知っているということ。だからこそ堪能していただきたい。

彼らの物語は、1904年、マリオ・カンポス・エ・シルヴァの家族の歴史から始まります。マリア・ホセ・カンブライア・デ・カンポスと結婚した彼は、息子のフランシスコ・カンブライア・デ・カンポスに、幼い頃から土地の手入れ、コーヒー農園の開拓、家業の経営などを教えました。フランシスコの教えは、すべての学問と同じように、根を張り、良い実を結ぶことである。フランシスコは、愛するマリア・ダ・コンセイサン・ピニェイロ・デ・カンポス（有名なドナ・ネネム）と共に、12人の子供たちからなる美しい家庭を築き、そのうちの一人、エドゥアルド・カンポスは1976年に350ヘクタールの農場を受け継いだ。エドゥアルド・カンポスはビジネスの道を歩む運命にあり、すぐに土地を買い増し、その結果、総面積は1,400ヘクタールとなった。この1,400ヘクタールのうち、1つはコーヒー栽培用、もう1つは環境保全用の土地でした。以来、エドゥアルド・カンポスとその息子であるアンドレ・カンポス、エドゥアルド・フィリョは、技術と起業家としてのビジョンを持って、共にコーヒー生産に取り組んできました。一家の主な目的は、自分たちの生産を、この国の優れたコーヒーのベンチマークとして確立することです。そのために、150人の直接雇用と200人の間接雇用を創出する生産拡大の可能性に多大な投資を行っています。

<バイヤーのコメント＞ドナ・ネネはブラジルの大規模農園のものです。しかし、カッピングの際、クラシックな味わいよりも革新的なロットが多い印象を受けました。これは、もともとダテーラ農園で品質管理を担当していたレナート氏によるものです。彼はエステートにお願いして光発酵槽に投資してもらい、毎年安定した品質の味わいを生み出しています。BSCAのロットは、国内審査に出したロットで、決勝には進めなかったものの、品質は非常に良いものだったそうです。BSCAからロットを購入しました。

Their story begins in 1904 with the family history of Mário Campos e Silva. Married to Maria José Cambraia de Campos, he taught his son Francisco Cambraia de Campos from an early age to care for the land, cultivate coffee plantations, and manage the family business. Francisco’s teaching, as with all learning, is to put down roots and bear good fruit. Together with his beloved Maria da Conceição Pinheiro de Campos (the famous Dona Nenem), Francisco built a beautiful family of 12 children, one of whom, Eduardo Campos, inherited a 350-hectare farm in 1976. Eduardo Campos, who was destined for business, soon bought more land, resulting in a total area of 1,400 hectares. One 1,400 hectares of this land was for coffee cultivation and the other for environmental conservation. Since then, Eduardo Campos and his sons, Andre Campos and Eduardo Filho, have worked together to produce coffee with skill and entrepreneurial vision. The family’s main objective is to establish their production as the benchmark for the country’s exceptional coffee. To this end, they have invested heavily in the possibility of expanding production creating 150 direct jobs and 200 indirect jobs.

<Buyer Comments> Dona Nene is from a large Brazilian plantation. However, when cupping, I got the impression that there were more innovative lots than classic flavors. This is due to Mr. Renato, who was originally in charge of quality control at Daterra Estate. He asked the estate to invest in a photo fermentation tank, which produced a consistent quality of flavor year after year. The BSCA lot was a lot that was submitted to the national judging, and although it did not make it to the finals, the quality of the lot was very good. We purchased the lot from the BSCA.
